Major action today...the basement wall forms were put into place. Nothing was there when we drove by this morning, but I went by the house about 10:30. The forms were already unloaded off the truck and 3 guys were busy putting them in place. Luckily it was not as hot today as in past days but I still felt bad for them working in the hot sun in a big hole in the ground. It looks awesome though, very big!
I ended up staying later at work (found out that my library is getting wireless this summer, Oh yeah!) and then took the boys to see the house. I was out taking a couple more pictures and the woman next door came out. Turns out that Spencer's best friend from daycare lives there, so I got the boys out of the truck. As soon as Spencer saw his friend, he took off and ran in their house, Carson following as fast as he could. We stayed for about 30 minutes and chatted while the boys played. Jeff came and videotaped the basement while we were in the neigbor's house. As we were leaving, we met the neigbor who lives across the street, and they have a little boy Carson's age. Plus there is another little boy Carson's age that lives 2 houses down and 3 more kids down the street a little that are also in Spencer's preschool class. This is going to be such a fun neighborhood for the boys! We're pretty excited too. Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming as we stalk the house with our cameras every day.
The last few pictures on today's video are of the boys playing on the beach at our condo right before bedtime tonight. I will give a picture tour of the condo sometime soon. Don't worry, it won't take long, this place is cute, but very tiny!
We hear the cement truck will be coming on Friday to pour the basement walls. Then the cement will cure over the weekend and sometime next week they will backfill around the walls and then begin to frame the house. Meanwhile we will try to figure out where we will live in July. Cottage in Iola or camper at Bayshore Park, what do you think?
